A typical mosaic project for floors, plazas, or swimming pools involves 100,000+ tiles—some can even exceed 1.2 million. Traditional manual assembly is slow and labor-intensive; even skilled workers can typically place only around 10,000 tiles per day. Our Robotic Mosaic Assembly System automates this process, achieving speeds of up to 3,600 tiles per hour and beyond.

System Components

A. Mosaic Pick & Mount Robot

  • High-speed Cartesian robots that pick tiles from feeders and place them onto mosaic pallets
  • Optimized for small tiles, handling 3x3mm to 25x25mm square tiles and other shapes
  • Precision placement with millimeter accuracy (0.5mm gap or even smaller)
  • Speeds of up to 3,600 tiles/hour (faster models available)

B. Tile Feeding System

  • Continuous Tile Supply for the Pick & Mount Robot
  • The system ensures a continuous supply of tiles to the Pick & Mount Robot. The following feeding options are available:
    Feeder Tray – An economical and easy-to-use option, though it requires manual labor for loading.
    Tape Feeder Group – This configuration includes 24 to 96 tape feeders, with each carrier tape capable of holding 500 to 1000 tiles.
    Vibration Disc – Automatically feeds and positions tiles using vibration.
    Others – Custom feeding solutions can be provided upon request.

C. Workshop Equipment

Standard Workflow

  1. Import tile samples into the design software.
  2. Design the mosaic and generate robot command data.
  3. Prepare tiles: fill them into carrier tape or trays, and store them in a storage area.
  4. Load the tile tape onto feeders, or mount the tile tray onto a pallet. The design tool will indicate how many tiles are needed.
  5. Mount an empty receiver pallet onto the robot.
  6. Open the robot console and load the command data.
  7. Assembly: Let the robot build your mosaic; it will notify you when a pallet is ready.
  8. Finalizing: Transfer completed pallets to the workbench, then finish gluing and packaging.
